Foundation Stitches

After the first foundation half double crochet is complete, each additional stitch is made following these steps.

To make the next foundation half double crochet stitch: *Yo, insert hook in last ch-1 made (see illustration A), yo, pull up lp, yo, pull through 1 lp on hook (see illustration B-ch-1 completed), yo, pull through all lps on hook (see illustrations C and D-hdc completed), rep from * as indicated.
