Beyond Basic Stitches

Linked stitches are a way to join one stitch to the next stitch to create a solid fabric.
This video tutorial explains how to work a linked double crochet stitch. To begin, insert hook into 2nd ch and pull up a lp (a), insert hook into the 3rd ch from hook, yo and pull up a lp. You now have 3 lps on hk (b), yo and pull through 2 loops twice to finish the st (c).

To make the next stitch, insert hook from top to bottom in the horizontal bar on the last st made, yo and pull up a loop (d), insert hook into the next ch or st, yo and pull up a lp. You now have 3 lps on hk (e), yo and pull through 2 loops twice to finish the st (f).
