I agree with Becky R, this pattern is perfect as written. Becky's advice was helpful as I progressed. You have to take the pattern instructions literally, and if it doesn't work on the first try, pull the row out and start again. It takes practice, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually quite easy as the pattern repeats itself. Mine turned out beautiful, but it is a bit heavy, so be sure to use a yarn that is lightweight. There are a couple of rows that would be nice to have a video tutorial of; however, I was able to figure it out eventually. I notice they have upped the rating from "intermediate" to challenging, so that's helpful. I've been crocheting intermittently for about fifteen years. If you like a challenge, give this pattern a try. I did, and I am so happy to have mastered it and gotten such stellar results! I will definitely be making another one, especially now that I have the pattern figured out it should go much more quickly.

I am not a very experienced crocheter but nor am I a beginner. I find that this pattern lacks of specific indications andor pictures of whatever the author is trying to explain in it. It would be a major plus if you could add pictures or diagrams of what you are trying to say and also, include in the video a more detailed explanation of all the components of the poncho. There is no where in here to get support. It would be interesting if you could create a forum with Q&A.

Was so excited for this beautiful design. Needs diagrams or photos added to the pattern. I am an experienced crocheter and am finding the way this pattern is written to be very confusing. Without any photos or graphs there is no way to confirm if the rows were done correctly before moving on to the next, which just compounds errors until the project it too frustrating to continue. Thumbs down for zero support.

The video needs to show us how to do the cable parts. Only shows the easy beginning. I am an experienced crocheter, but for the life of me I can not understand that part of the pattern. PLEASE do a video showing the cable part.

This is a beautiful poncho. I just finished it about 10 minutes ago and it took me about two weeks. There are NO errors in this pattern. This pattern is not for beginners. I would only recommend it to the advanced crocheter. I think one of the problems others may be having is how to count stitches, and I'm not being sarcastic. Remember, when doing a front post stitch the single crochet behind the front post stitch counts as a stitch. So when the instruction says skip 2 sc, you're skipping the single crochet behind the post stitch and the next sc. this pattern is basically a cross between an alpine stitch and a Celtic stitch. I enjoyed making this and I love the finished piece. I'd attach a photo of it but apparently, there is no way to upload photos.
