Wavelength Quilt Pattern

December 23, 2014

I purchased this pattern to make a Quilt of Valor for my brother-in-law. The pattern is beautiful but I believe this should be intermediate in rating as the numerous triangle pieces became my biggest problem due to bias stretching. I am debating if I will give this to him as the points do not match. I think there may be a way to make this without all of the small triangles and combine these into half squares. I would not do this until you have a good background on cutting and grain lines. For an experienced quilter this is not a problem. I only started quilting about two years ago. I also learned to spray starch the fabric before cutting to prevent the stretch. I will try this again and now focus on the areas where I had problems.
