Patterns with up to eight pages are printed in color; patterns with more than eight pages have color covers with black and white inside pages. This afghan was designed to evoke little wavelets receding across the sand and back to the sea. The sand-colored center alternates single and double crochet rows with seashells for texture.

Crochet with Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted yarn: 11 skeins sand, 6 skeins vacation blues. Pattern uses a U.S. size H/8/5mm hook.

Finished size: 48" W x 61" L

Love the design, the center section can be a blanket all on it's own and goes very quick. The border has no graph and this makes it exceptionally challenging. I am trying to make a graph as I crochet each row. The design is beautiful just takes a long time to read, crochet and count as the border enlarges -- and does not lend to an intuitive stitch placement.

I have read this pattern and it looks interesting and maybe a little challenging. I'm sure it will be beautiful when finished.
