Spirit Hat Crochet Pattern

Pattern 4 stars. I consider myself an intermediate crocheter and still found the pattern a little difficult to "get" it. Parts of it I just winged it and it worked out. Yarn 1 star. I wanted the color it was made in for the photo shoot. It wasn't available then or now. I used the Grapevine color and it was hideous. After about two-thirds done, I realized it wasn't something anyone would wear. That yarn color lot is bad. You can't make out any of the changing elements. It has gone to Goodwill. Much happier done in self-striping yarn.

LOVE! I am an intermediate crocheter and had no problems with this pattern at all. Instructions were extremely clear, and all stitch counts were correct I made 2 different sizes. I love the pattern layout and detail, I just love when everything is spelled out. The pattern even tells how long your hat should be before the crown, so you can adjust the number of rounds- that's precise!! While I had no problems with one of the rounds, I love how it was written as normal you know with asterisks and brackets, then it was broken down step by step for those who want to check they are doing the order right- nice details! Definitely an intermediate pattern, and I will be making a ton of these for next Christmas.

I found this to be a very easy pattern. I have been in the Irarotts testing team for 9 years and tested hundreds of patterns I found the way it was written a bit confusing and had to rip it out 3 times but once I figured it out I had no issues although the stitch counts on the final rows were always off. I don't see it as an intermediate level but an advanced beginner.

This is a cute pattern but the directions are complicated. It's definitely not a beginner pattern. I did complete the project, I loved the results, but without previous crocheting experience would have not been able to do so.
