Very handy for reading patterns, but love having near my reading chair. It is great for reading medicine bottles or directions that are written tiny.

Okay. Two small tiny magnets hot glued at each end and 1 near middle on top edge and a metal ruler for back solves problem of holding in place. I am very happy with the results!

I got this to help with reading the graph for cross stitch thinking it was magnetic (like an old one was I had). Was disappointed that it is not.Magnifies well but won't work with my chart holder. Waste of money for me.

I love this product and I've barely used it! Great for books and paperwork, very useful. Haven't tried it yet for sewing or crochet projects yet, but I plan to. I bought a 2nd one, so now I have one at work and one at home.

I like the concept - this tool enlarges an entire line of text with no distortion, and offers a ruler (inches/cm) for accurate and convenient gauge measurement. Downside? You have to lay your work on a tabletop. The magnifier/ruler is heavy and the notches that serve as grips aren't very effective, and it is too easy to drop and scratch the ruler. Hand-held is just not workable. Using it on crochet charts is also not workable unless the chart is all straight lines, The best uses for this tool are accurate gauge measurement on light colored yarns, and magnification/place-holding on large knit pattern charts (color work or lace) and on filet crochet charts.
