What is a "print-to-order" pattern?

A print-to-order pattern is printed for you at the time we receive your order. Patterns with up to eight pages are printed in color; patterns with more than eight pages have color covers with black and white inside pages. We'll print and ship it to you within 24 to 48 hours after receiving your order. Please note that your print-to-order patterns will be shipped separately to you so if you ordered other items, you'll receive multiple packages.

Sophie’s Universe was originally released as a 20-part CAL (crochet-along) in 2015, designed by Dedri Uys and sponsored by Scheepjes yarn. It is now available in printed format exclusively from Annie’s! Despite its complexity, the pattern is actually written specifically for adventurous beginners. It starts out with a simple granny square that has a beautiful crochet flower in the center and gradually unfolds into a stunning, hypnotizing design. 216 pages.

Book includes instructions for 3 sizes using different weights of yarn.
  • Large size uses Scheepjes Stonewashed XL worsted-weight yarn.
    Finished size: 5'6" x 5'6"
  • Medium size uses Scheepjes Softfun DK-weight yarn.
    Finished size: 4'7" x 4'7"
  • Small size uses Scheepjes Cotton 8 sport-weight yarn.
    Finished size: 3'3" x 3'3"

    Love this pattern. It's fun to crochet. Just wish the print was a little larger for easier reading.

    This is by far the best written pattern book that I have ever used. I have been crocheting for close to 50 yrs but I would recommend this book to a confident beginner. Dedri has done an amazing job providing pictures and hints to help anyone follow along. Have fun and make yourself a beautiful afghan.

    I have not yet started this lovely piece of crochet as I am waiting for my yarn to come in. I have charted out the rounds with the colors I will be using and am anxiously awaiting my boxes of glorious colors to get here. So many colors are on backorder so I am not sure when they will all get here. Will return and update after I get started on this. The pictures and the directions seem to be really clear but I also found the tutorials on YouTube and have downloaded them all in case I should get stuck.
