    This is a lovely pattern! I changed to a size J hook and even then my gauge was about an inch off. With a little adjustment based on the inch measurements and using my favorite beanie for comparison, it still turned out great! I used RH Unforgettable yarn in Bistro. It looks better than something you would find at a boutique!

    Love this pattern. Easy to follow. Have made 3 using RH Unforgettable yarn. But I think a solid would look nice as well. I do not have long enough hair to wear so cannot attest to that.

    This hat is quick and fairly easy to make. The medium size was a bit tight, so I made the next one in the large size. That seems to fit better. I'd prefer if the pattern told how many rows to make the body of the hat instead of how many inches to make it. Other than that, I love the hat.

    Found this pattern to be easy to follow. My only recommendation is that the initial chaining should be done in a much larger hook. I used a size K hook for the chaining and even using one size larger than the recommended hook (J) and the maximum chains (66), the bottom of the hat was tight. My alternative is to add a few more chains to my initial chaining for additional room and adjust for that in the crown. My gauge otherwise using the J hook was right on.

    I love this hat and I am starting to make hats for next Christmas for my northern friends and family. Since I have short hair I might buy a messy bun and sew it to the top of mine. Easy pattern to follow.
