This entire pattern is worked using 1 basic stitch—a half double slip stitch—to create a beautiful texture that resembles a twisted cabled rib stitch in knitting. The pattern is worked in vertical rows, and the texture appears on both sides of the fabric. It's a beautifully unique stitch. Despite the reviews, I bought it. I've read through it at least 3 times. it makes sense. I wasted a couple of hours looking for the tutorial Deborah mentioned & couldn't find it. I will attempt to crochet it when I have a full day to devote to the pattern and will try to learn it. If you don't hear from me in a month, you'll know I failed. Have a good evening ladies.

When I first looked at this I pulled up a video to learn to do the stitch and found it difficult to do, so I didn't buy the pattern. I guess my brain learned the stitch though, because I pulled up the video again and tried it out and now it is easy to do, so I purchased the pattern today and did a little swatch. I love this stitch pattern. I will be making some blankets and scarves with this pattern.

I find this pattern beautiful but agree with other reviewers as the stitch is difficult to pull through. Also, a short tutorial would be extremely helpful, as I am unsure how this goes going back and forth. It is not going smoothly, and I am sure if we could see how you manage this would help us immensely. I will practice it a little longer but may give up and use another cable stitch pattern, one that has a short tutorial.

Love this afghan & sure wish it was available in print. For some reason, many electronic d downloads, not just from this site, will not open for me. Don't want to purchase & then find out it would not open. Wish ALL patterns were available in either print or download.
