Sunrise Sunset Charger and Parrot Parody Rope Basket are both stitched using worsted-weight yarn and a size F/5/3.75mm crochet hook. The charger is stitched over 3 3/16" diameter polypropylene clothesline and the basket is stitched over 1/4" diameter smooth braid cotton sash cord.

    Two great basic patterns for a table mat and a basket, plus some good general tips and guidelines. The patterns are designed for those new to crocheting over cord/rope, but I've been crocheting for over forty years, and I learned some new stitches and techniques for creating sturdier baskets. These patterns are a useful reference and addition to my collection.

    The download was great but the actual Parrot Parody Rope Basket was not. It was too flimsy for a basket and not enough instructions on when and how to turn the basket for the sides. Is there another rope basket that is more firm?
