Crocheted cables are often considered challenging. You'll be surprised and pleased to learn that cables are made with the basic stitches you already know! Expert Jennifer Pionk will take you step by step through the process as you build your confidence and crochet three impressive patterns.

First you'll learn all about the structure of cables and how they can stack vertically as well as move horizontally. Your first project is the Staggered Cables Scarf as you begin you cables adventure. Once you master the skills in the scarf, you'll move on to the Modern Fingerless Mitts to learn slightly more advanced techniques. The Intertwined Jewels Cabled Pillow takes what you've learned with the first two projects and allows you to complete this stylish home decor accent. You'll finish off the pillow with trendy tassels!

In this class you'll learn how to:
  • Understand the structure of cables.
  • Work front and back post stitches with confidence.
  • Control your tension and minimize gaps.
  • Create movement in your fabric with intertwined cables.
  • Crochet a stretchy cuff and thumb gusset.
  • Make three simply gorgeous cable projects.

I was really struggling with Cables, but Jennifer made it so easy and explained it so well. I have been crocheting since I was a very young, I thought the class was fabulous, If I missed something I could click the repeat button at the bottom. I loved it and found Jennifer to be a fabulous teacher.

I wanted to like this class. But I just didnt... im not a beginner and was looking for more advanced cable techniques so scarf pattern was way to basic for me. Good practice but I didn't learn anything.
That's ok... i thought it look3d simplementation before i bought the class..... but the glove cables weren't basic so that was great.. or so i thought. The instructor didn't say the same thing as the pattern for some of the rows which was confusing. She does zip through the more difficult steps so with her saying something different from the pattern that was confusing and just poor instruction.
The pattern mitt picture looks great but if you have small hands,, like me, it may look odd. I made the size small, checked gauge and all but it swallowed my hand , and even though I was able to make a nice cable dispite her confusing instructions, because it was so large it looked sloppy. I ripped it all out.. no sense in wasting good yarn on ugly gloves.
I haven't the heart to try the pillow after being so disappointed with the first two..
Very dissatisfied overall with this instructor , class and patterns.
After taking several excellent craftsy classes (one I took actually taught me basic cable work extremely well) and after taking Robin Chachulas excellent sweater class from Annies this really left alot to be desired

I have only just started to watch this class, and am practicing the scarf cable. I have always found cabling difficult but after this first part I am getting the hang of it thanks to Jennifer's tuition although she is a little fast but I keep stopping and going over again. I am looking forward to the rest of the class.

I have been struggling with crochet cables for a long time and found this class extremely helpful. I thought Jennifer was very thorough and went slow enough to figure out the variations in the stitches. I am grateful for this class and look forward to finishing a cable blanket soon. My only suggestion would be to include a symbol chart for the pattern.
