Tried doing as per instructions ... cutting 25 2 1/2 X2 1/2 squares of different fabrics. Didn't like the look. Purchased fat quarters of fall fabrics and work much better. Loved the result and would make it again this way.

I love this Maple Leaf! Thus pattern can be used so many ways!
I ordered this for the Maple Leaf only at this time for an applique for my first quilt.
Next, I plan to make the table runner for my friend .

I downloaded this pattern because I thought it would be easy to adapt it to make placemats. Absolutely no problem and they turned out beautiful! My table is now set for fall. This was a super easy pattern to work with!
