Unfortunately, you can't read through patterns before buying them, and once you buy them, it's too late to do anything about it if there are things you don't like about the pattern. There are two "design elements" that I don't like at all, and to redesign both requires being able to find fabric that is at least 54" wide, which is nearly impossible to find where I live. All of the quilt shops where I live have closed and I did not want to buy borderbacking fabric online because I can't determine well enough if it would match my puff fabric choice. The first design element I didn't like was that with regular width material, you would have a seam in two of the four borders and I didn't want those seams. The second design element is where the backing meets the borders on the underside of the quilt. Attaching the border to the backing would have necessitated hand-sewing seams which I hate doing which look like they would stick out and probably look amateurish. If there is a way to make them NOT stick out, it wasn't explained how to do it and therefore not much use. I wanted borders with no seams and a backing that would have spanned the whole quilt so as not to have visible seams on the backside. After much consternation and tryingfailing to find fabric locally that was at least 54" wide to overcome these deficits, I abandoned the idea of putting on borders at all and simply sewed on a frilly trim. So instead of having a 48" x 48" quilt, mine is 36" x 36" with a 2" trim.
