I love this afghan! It worked up quickly and turned out beautifully! I agree that the video class directions help on some of the stitches I wasn't familiar with. I've done other classes with Lena and she's amazing at how she well she shows you exactly what to do. Once you "get" the stitch, the rest is easy. Just count your stitches across the row often. it's easy to have that stitch count get away from you and you really have to watch for that. I've got plans to make more of these for my family in different colors-- I just started one in a soft sage for my 86 year old mother.

This makes a beautiful afghan, but it's definitely challenging. I wasn't aware of the video when I made it, which probably helps. But things went well just working with the pattern until I got to the border. I counted my brains out, but somehow the corners just wouldn't work out for me. So, I had to fudge my way through that, which turned out okay but was very frustrating. I did work a round of single crochet before I did the border section. These sampler style afghans' edges tend to get pretty wonky, and that base round of single crochet does help with that. Maybe that contributed to my border problems.

This pattern is beautiful. A bit of a challenge but using the DVD instructions made it much easier. I will make another one after this using a different color. Very pleased!

Very easy to crochet as long as you also buy the video class and count stitches. Very satisfying learning how to crochet the diamond stitch following along with the video.

I love this so far. It is a bit challenging as a new crocheter. I happened across a "class" on this site that is a video tutorial. Game changer! I THINK if you buy the class you get the instructions also. I bought one, then the other later, but it was still a bargain.

This is a challenging pattern, and I have learned so much while doing it. I had to watch a few you tube videos on the diamond stitch, and my diamonds look like squares :-). I Get caught up when I am crocheting to finish a section, rather than just finish the row. It's kind of addictive.

I'm enjoying this pattern very much. This is the second project I've done by reading a pattern so it challenged me. The pattern is easy to understand and I feel like I've learned a lot in doing it. Count your stitches, read the notes, and make sure you're working the right side for your designs.

Works up beautifully. Instructions are fairly easy to follow - it is definitely a pattern for advanced crocheters.

This is the most challenging pattern I have ever attempted. I can do it and it is neat. But I end up having to rip out and re do almost every single row. I am constantly counting the stitches to make sure it is right. I'm gonna keep at it because I don't give up. But in my opinion the pattern is poorly written because what is normal is not crochet in first stitch and on one row does not apply to next row.
