I have been knitting and crocheting for over 30 years and I agree with all the others. I even called Annie's to see about a video. I have used a lot of Annie's videos and they make the project so much more enjoy. I am getting pretty frustrated and will most likely put it down for a while in hopes a VIDEO will be made.

This pattern is getting the better of me, I've crocheted for over 30 years, so glad I'm not the only one that is having problems with this. I wish there was a video for this one, it sure would help! Regardless I'm determined to finish this as I purchased the whole kit and I really love the blanket, hope mine looks like that lol. As suggested below I'm going to look up Bonnie Barker and each stitch to figure out placement. I will finish!

I was extremely disappointed in this pattern!! I thought it was poorly explained. I have been crocheting for 53 years. I marked and counted everything. I took out rows multiple times to double check my work. I rarely give up on anything, but after 2 days of rereading and retrying, I gave up!!. The center panel part was just too difficult to figure out.

The pattern is hard to start but once you get the flow it makes sense. I found writing the pattern out on paper made it easier. I wish there was a graph I am more of a visual person so I think a graph would be helpful. I have ripped out a few times but I think I am on my way to success.

This pattern came out beautiful! It was a little hard to follow at first, but once I figured out where each "panel" started I made markings on the pattern to help know where each began. This helped me a lot and made it go very smoothly. I hope this idea helps others, because it really is a gorgeous Afghan! I made it as a gift, now I want to make one for myself:)

I loved making this afghan and it came out beautifully. I'm on my second one for a Christmas gift. I don't understand the other reviews that claim its hard to follow. One row at a time. I did Google Bonnie Barker and each stitch for a video just to be sure that I had it right. The celtic is difficult at first but. Once you learn the pattern and understand how the stitches go it was a breeze. I work the celtic all from the front side just the opposite way on 2nd row. Would highly recommend and if you are new to crochet have patience as its worth the effort.

Pattern was extremely difficult to follow. The center panel Finally defeated me. Once I printed the pattern and color highlighted each panel, all except the center one were easy and enjoyable. A complete picture (without part folded over) might be helpful. Also the instructions said to see the stitch guide for pdf instructions but I couldn't find them and had to go online to a separate site to find instructions. I have been crocheting and knitting for many years and this is the first pattern I just gave up on. It is so pretty in the picture but the instructions are just too hard to follow.

The picture of the afghan is beautiful.
I have been crocheting for 50 years, and this pattern is difficult to follow. The spacing of the pattern is too close together, the font used is too small. I've had to "rewrite" the pattern, just to make it easy to follow along while crocheting.
The outcome of the afghan is very nice.
I would also recommend edging the afghan with a row of single crochet, followed by a crab stitch, just to give it a finished look.
