Super magnetic. No worries about anythinng falling out and getting lost accidentally. Just pulled several pins out of the carpeting...they dropped off of the table. They're not going anywhere now...unless I take them from the dish. I can find my small sewing scissors - because they're now in the magnetic dish. Even my granddaughter was impressed. She's a teen Teens aren't easily impressed. LOL
