English paper piecing is a beautiful way to create a quilt, a table topper or, in this case, a table runner. In this Learn, Make, Create! episode, quilting expert Nancy Scott will demonstrate basic English paper-piecing techniques. The featured project, Hexagon Snowflake Runner, is included with this episode and can be made with stash fabrics.

The attractive runner pattern calls for hexagon pieces. Nancy will show you how to make a hexagon template and how to lay out and stitch the hexagons together using the English paper-piecing method. She also shares tips for successfully removing the paper template, demonstrates hand basting and straight stitching, and discusses other options -- such as zigzag or decorative applique -- when joining the pieces together.
