I also found the pattern to vague. Did not bother completing after reviewing videos hoping to figure out.

I love all hooded cardigans. This was easy to crochet, but hard assemble. I had to rework several places; notably, the sleeve width was 2 inches shorter than where it aligns with the body, and the hood did not drape enough when it was on my head, so I made it longer. The end product is rather heavy, and likely very very warm. I will make another, with a lighter yarn, and see if it sizes better. I really want this pattern to work!

I'm subscribed to the magazine and I'm working up this pattern from the printed pattern in the magazine. The pattern and stitches are beautiful on this; however, it's giving me a lot of trouble. For one, who wants to have so many pieces to put together on a wearable? That's why so many seamless and minimal-seam patterns are taking off on the market--this part is the most painful. For two, the model must be 4' 6" or something, because the jacket is working up MUCH shorter than the way it should in the picture. For three, I typically wear an XL, but this XL is working up tighter than it should for a loose-fitting sweater. Since I've had so many issues, I've started adapting it massively for a looser fit and fewer seams, but I'm still keeping the gorgeous stitch pattern.

I bought this magazine because of the cardigan on the front, The Weekend Hooded Sweater. The pattern is so vague I feel like I'm working a puzzle trying to assemble it. Schematics like other patterns in the magazine should have been included.. I've made garments before and consider myself to be at an intermediate level but putting this together is ridiculous. I won't buy from a pattern from this designer again and I certainly won't subscribe to the magazine.

It's a great pattern. I have made 3 so far (1 for myself in S, 1 for 2 of my sisters in S & M) and currently working on 1 for my aunt. The hood is MASSIVE. To cut down on the bulk of it, I decreased on both sides of the center of the hood, every other row 4 times. It fits perfectly. Still a large hood, but no one looks like a Sith Lord. It's funny, but the larger the size, the shorter the length. So for my aunt's jacket (a L) I added a couple of rows to try to retain length. Also, I really did not want to search for a bulky yarn I liked, so I double stranded Worsted weight yarn in 2 different colors. I still used a K/6.5 mm hook & and watched my tension. They turned out great!
