1st time making something like this. It's a little wonky but I learned a lot. I thought the pale grey gingham fabric was the backing but since it is only 9 inches wide I suppose it is for binding. I may purchase something else for binding and backing.

I can't wait to start this project, have material all picked out, I'm a beginner quilter and the directions look easy to follow.
