Laura Scott
Laura Scott is a lifelong crafter. She says, "On hot summer days in Pennsylvania, my best friend and I created 'stores' under several huge, old pine trees. We would gather leaves, flowers, sticks and pinecones to make artistic creations which we then bartered and sold to one other, each always vying to make the most original and unique pieces. A few years later, after learning cross stitch, needlepoint, sewing and embroidery in 4-H, I asked a friend to teach me to crochet. While the scratchy lemon-yellow scarf was never quite completed and certainly never worn, it helped me to learn how to hold the hook and yarn and work basic stitches."
After being hired by Annie's in 1992, Laura learned other crafts including watercolor painting, beading, floral arranging and most recently, quilting. During her career at Annie's, Laura has been a crochet, knitting, plastic canvas and general crafts magazine and book editor, product development director of Annie's Kit-of-the-Month Clubs, director of Online Classes and most recently, Chief Design Officer, which has included developing Annie's Creative Studio. She considers herself blessed to have a career focused on arts, crafts and creativity, and believes firmly that video instruction is the best way to teach and learn new skills.
