Materials
- Merino wool fiber (top or roving) rope for each flower: 18-inch length in variegated hand-dyed colors of choice, 3 (9-inch) lengths in solid coordinating colors, 20-inch length in green
- Silk threads
- Very small amount Angelina or Firestar fiber
- Bamboo fibers, curly locks (wool or mohair) (optional)
- Small handful of 1–3 colors coarser wool fiber (Corriedale, for example)
- Approximately 24 inches size 5 or 8 pearl cotton in desired color
- Large-eye needle (I use a size 1/5 crewel embroidery needle)
- Wide rubber band to grip needle
- Thimble
- Pinback
- Sewing thread to match flower
- Straight pins
